theme of the Arkansas 811 magazine the power industry ~— - p ,
Accurdlng to the occupational Safety and Health Arlrninistrations ,‘
(OSHA). approximately 350 electrical-related fatalities occur - —
each year satety-conscious contractors understand the dangers
associated with pertorrning work near power lines and take the necessary precautions.
Never underestimate the power of electricity.

Thus far this year in 2018, the Arkansas 2311 call/ticket volumes through June are 5%
below last year's numbers. This is the i’-irst year since 2009 that the state hasn't seen an
increase in ticket volumes as compared to the previous year But then agaln, 2017 was a
record year. so has Arkansas reached its maximum level of excavation and construction
actlvlty in a glvsn excavation season? who knows: l am anxious to see how the second
half of 2018 will go}
